We recommend using Pear or "D" shaped carabiners while using The Bridge Buddy. Oval carabiners can be used, however they will add wear to the perimeter of the carabiner slot.

Is it normal to see some wear from my carabiner?

- Yes, it's normal for your Bridge Buddy to wear in around where your carabiner connects. Keeping weight down requires us to use aircraft grade aluminum, which is a soft metal. We are currently working on an adapter to eliminate this from happening altogether. We also recommend using wide gate, "D" or "Pear" shaped carabiners with The Bridge Buddy. Having a larger gate reduces the angle of your carabiner on The Bridge Buddy, resulting in more surface area contact and less wear on the device. Rest assured that the integrity of your Bridge Buddy will remain intact, even with visual wear.

Do I need to silence my carabiner?

- Yes, we recommend silencing any equipment that requires a metal on metal connection.
